A traditional Wiltshire butcher

There’s been a Butcher on this spot
in Market Lavington since 1730.

The Douse name was first hung above the door 60 years ago, when Bob Douse took on the business to run along side his original shop in Northgate Street, Devizes with his son John. Three generations of our family have now been in the trade. Today, we serve you behind a shop front that looks almost identical to how it did 280 years ago.

Of course history won’t make your food taste better. But it’s good to know that we live and breathe the trade, with the skills and experience to offer you a full range of carefully prepared meat, much of it from our own farm. And that will make a delicious difference to what you put on your plate.
