In the 1970s we realised that the only way we could give our customers quality beef at reasonable prices was to produce it ourselves.

Today, just down the road at Wickham Green Farm in Urchfont, we raise Hereford, Aberdeen Angus, Devon and Shorthorn cattle. These are native English breeds with a good temperament  and great tasting beef. Fattened on grass and wintered inside on our own silage and hay, the beef is produced completely self-sufficiently.

We dry age the hindquarters and fore rib over 30 days. This gives it a richer taste and beautifully tender texture, dark red and marbled with soft yellow fat. A world away from what you might buy in any supermarket.

In the shop you’ll also find outdoor reared pork from West End Farm, Bishops Cannings Wiltshire reared lamb, Cotswold White free range chicken and our best selling Old English Pork sausages made on the premises the traditional way.
